The robust aluminum cans have extremely compact dimensions, making the series now the most compact motor-run capacitors on the market. Depending on the capacitance, the diameters are only 30 mm or 35 mm, and the heights vary between 73 mm and 103 mm including the connections. They are designed for a voltage of 450 V AC at 50/60 Hz, and, with 13 types, cover a capacitance range from 1 μF to 20 μF. The self-healing resin-filled capacitors are equipped with an internal overpressure breakaway protection and are designed for a lifetime of 10,000 hours at 450 V AC. Standard connections are 2+2 fast-on connectors (6.3 mm x 0.8 mm) and can be modified to customer specifications. Versions with an M8 bolt at the bottom of the housing are also available. All types have approvals according to UL and VDE and carry the CE mark. Ceramic Switching / Heating, Piezo Components, Contactors, Buzzers and Microphones High-Voltage Contactors Products & Technologies Dec. 2022 TDK releases ModCap™ HF DC link capacitors with ultra-low ESL TDK Corporation (TSE: 6762) presents ModCapTM HF, a modular capacitor concept for DC link applications that is able to work at very high switching frequencies. The six newly developed power capacitors of the B25647A* series are available for rated voltages from 900 V to 1600 V and cover a capacitance spectrum from 640 µF to 1850 µF. Depending on the type, the rated currents range from 160 A to 210 A with a maximum permitted hot spot temperature of 90 °C. Thanks to the ultra-low ESL value of only 8 nH and to its flat ESR vs Freq evolution that allows minimizing losses even at high frequency, ModCap HF is particularly well suited for fast-switching SiC-based inverters. The very low self-inductance prevents voltage overshooting on the power semiconductors when the current is shut off. As a result, generally, no snubber capacitors are needed. Capacitors Film Capacitors Power Capacitors (Film) Products & Technologies Nov. 2022 [Product Overview] NTCWS series: Wire Bondable NTC temperature sensor In recent years, optical transmission systems have been adopted at high rate because of the increase in capacity and speed of communication. Among them, a semiconductor laser that is positioned as an important component requiring a temperature sensor to keep the ambient temperature constant. A thermocouple can be used as a temperature sensor, but the NTCWS series of NTC thermistor is more suited to this application. The NTCWS series can be mounted by wire bonding, achieving small size, high accuracy and unquestionable reliability.
