Inductive Power Supply for Transmission Line Monitoring Systems
Main Features
- The clamp‑type design enables on‑site installation without cutting the power line, helping to reduce installation time.
- Using ferrite in the clamp’s magnetic core provides corrosion resistance and long‑term durability for outdoor use.
- The design delivers a stable output for continuous operation of sensors and instruments and includes over‑current protection.
- Two variants are offered: one for overhead lines and one for underground lines.
- The non‑contact design combined with corrosion‑resistant materials minimizes the frequency of replacement, yielding a low‑maintenance solution.
- It can be used as a power supply for sensors depending on the current state of the transmission line and is suitable for coordination with real-time monitoring systems (Dynamic Line Rating ).
Overview of Inductive Power Supplies
An inductive power supply system consists of a current transformer (CT) section and a power supply section.
Changes in the alternating current (AC) flowing through the clamped wire cause variations in the magnetic flux within the CT core, inducing voltage (and current) in the coil.
The power supply section rectifies and smooths the AC obtained from the coil, then stabilizes it using a DC/DC converter or similar components to provide a DC power output.
The power supply section is controlled to ensure a stable supply of voltage and power within the specified AC current range of the wire.
Product Overview
Models for overhead power lines:
Clamp onto an energized overhead line to deliver non‑contact power; the unit is lightweight for high‑altitude outdoor work.
Detailed specifications will be accommodated according to the conditions.

Models for underground transmission lines:
The clamp shape is compatible with underground cables, and the ferrite is used as a magnetic material, so it is resistant to moisture and contamination.
For the underground model, 100 A yields roughly 10W, while 200A provides about 20W of power.
Adding an extra clamp improves power‑transfer efficiency.

■Output Characteristics of Underground Transmission Line Models
Model for underground transmission lines: 100 A current can supply about 10 W, 200 A current can supply about 20 W. By adding a clamping part, it is possible to improve the efficiency of the power supply. In addition, the clamp and the parallel connection of the board enable up to 60W of power supply.
