FAQ
Q.
Is heat generation with the ripple current a phenomenon that is unique to MLCCs (Multilayer Ceramic Chip Capacitors)?

  • Keramik-Vielschichtkondensatoren (MLCC)

A. This is a phenomenon that is common among all capacitors and not unique to MLCCs. MLCCs are structurally low in ESR when compared with electrolytic capacitors. That is why MLCCs generate less heat when the flow of the ripple current is the same.
