What is SCCR?

"SCCR" is an acronym for " Short Circuit Current Rating ".
It is the current value at the limit that can withstand the short-circuit current that flows when a short-circuit accident occurs in various power circuit equipment.

Why is it necessary?

In North America, SCCR ratings have been established to prevent serious damage such as fires and injuries to human life from equipment in the event of a short-circuit accident at power receiving facilities.
In addition, it is now mandatory to display SCCR values in industrial control panels.
In 2020, UL508A was revised and EMC filters were added to the SCCR target components.
