Voltages that can be applied to the capacitors need to be designed so that the peak to peak voltage does not exceed the rated voltage. In the case of voltage that is superimposed on an DC voltage, the peak voltage must be designed not to exceed the rated voltage. In addition, in cases where resonances or surge voltages are transitionally applied, these abnormal voltages must not exceed the rated voltage as well.
