Q.
When I measured the inductance of another company's product that is supposed to have the same inductance, it showed a different value. Why is that?
- Inductors (Coils)
A.
The ideal inductance of the short bar used as a reference during fixture compensation is zero. In reality, however, short bars have low inductance (residual inductance).
This residual inductance differs under different measurement environments; therefore, even identical products do not necessarily show the same value.
As residual inductance differs by manufacturer or product series, it must be checked using product catalogs, etc.
