CeraCharge® now available in a small packing unit
TDK Corporation presents a new packing unit for CeraCharge®, the world’s first SMD technology solid-state rechargeable battery, in the compact size EIA 1812 (4.4 x 3.0 x 1.1 mm3). The packing unit (B73180A0101M199) includes 10 blister-packed CeraCharge batteries which come in a vacuum-sealed plastic bag. The components are manufactured in regular series production and are suitable for test purposes, prototype construction and the installation of pilot lines. The packing unit can be obtained quickly and easily from selected TDK service distributors.

CeraCharge® is the first solid-state rechargeable battery in SMD technology. With its compact EIA 1812 package (4.5 x 3.2 x 1.1 mm) it offers a capacity of 100 μAh at a rated voltage of 1.5V. It is also capable of delivering currents in the order of several mA for short periods. Thanks to the SMD technology, placement of the battery is easy and it can be processed using reflow soldering techniques, which also reduces the production cost of the end product. To increase the capacity and the voltage, any number of individual CeraCharge components can be connected in series and parallel. This opens up a wide range of possible applications – particularly in devices intended for the Internet of Things. These include, for example, real-time clocks, bluetooth beacons, wearables or systems for harvesting energy.
