Power Supplies: Application & Cases: "A Smart Power System Made Possible by the Coordination Between Bidirectional DC-DC Converters and Energy Storage Systems"

TDK's insulation type bidirectional DC-DC converters in the EZA series are power supply units that serve as power conversion platforms in DC power supply systems that include communication functions and exchange DC power bidirectionally in a single unit. They have achieved high performance through digital controlling. Systems can now be designed flexibly.

Inductors (Coils): SPM5030/6530/6550-HZ series catalogs have been released

Magnetic shield type wound inductor for power circuits using a metallic magnetic material.
Compared to ferrite wound type inductors, it is possible to achieve large current, low Rdc, and compactness.
Low inductance variance in high-temperature environments with good DC superimposition characteristics. –40 to 125°C (including selftemperaturerise)
Metallic magnetic material is used, and the structure has an integrated molded coil, so hum noise is lower than with ferrite core adhesive coils.

Noise Suppression Filters: Newly released MAF2520 series for LED lighting

The new multilayer filter has compact dimensions of just 2.5 mm x 2.0 mm x 0.85 mm and features a suppression of spurious noise between 20 MHz and 100 MHz that is equivalent with that of larger wire-wound components. The new component has a rated current of 500 mA and a low DC resistance of just 0.28 Ω (typical). Its impedance at 30 MHz is 3.4 kΩ. Thanks to its wide operating temperature range of -40 to +125 °C, the component is also suitable for use in high temperature environments. In addition, the new MAF2520ASS600C filter satisfies CISPR 15 standards for LED lighting. Mass production began in January 2018.

Thanks to their reduced energy consumption and long operating life, LED lighting systems have continued to become increasingly popular in a wide range of applications in homes and buildings. In order to offer additional enhanced value, manufacturers are developing intelligent solutions with networked illumination control systems. The new miniaturized MAF2520ASS600C noise suppression filter from TDK is designed to protect the controllers from the noise generated by the AC to DC LED power supplies.

FAQ: Added "Magnets"

Answers for questions on magnets have been added to the FAQ corner. Various questions concerning issues such as the materials and quality of the products are answered.

PiezoHapt™ actuators: Add low voltage (12Vp-p) drive type

It is thin and can support various application.
It is possible to obtain a clear response by low-voltage drive.
It answers in an instant and can respond to a variegated vibration pattern (vibrational frequency).

FAQ: Added "Sensors and Sensor Systems"

Answers for questions on sensors and sensor systems have been added to the FAQ corner. Various questions concerning issues such as the materials and quality of the products are answered.

Details on the booth at OFC (the Optical Networking and Communication Conference & Exhibition)

TDK run a booth at the OFC, which was held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, for three days from Mar. 13, 2018 to Mar. 15, 2018.

TDK is applying the high precision manufacturing process expertise developed in HDD magnetic head to create advanced fiber array assemblies that are essential for the wide range of optical modules with Si-P devices.
Only TDK, with the experience of absolute quality control required in the mass production of electronic components, can deliver these high quality & high reliability optical products.

You can download the exhibition panels in the page below.

Newly released "Report on the DOJO Cultural Festival 2017"

A cultural festival was held last year in December 2017 at the maker’s space, “TDK MAKER DOJO”, where any TDK employee can stop by to practice their creative activities. Sixteen objects including guitars, programs, and even cartoons that they found interesting and learned from through creating were put on display with TDK’s venturous spirit.
