TDK Corporation (TSE:6762) presents the new EPCOS B43657* aluminum electrolytic capacitor series with snap-in terminals. The capacitors achieve a service life of at least 2000 h at a maximum operating temperature of 105 °C and cover a rated voltage range from 450 V DC to 475 V DC with capacitance values from 120 µF to 1250 μF. An important performance feature is their high ripple current capability of up to 8.54 A (120 Hz, 60 °C). TDK Corporation (TSE: 6762) presents the new EPCOS aluminum electrolytic capacitor series B43647* with snap-in terminals. Thanks to their outstandingly high CV product, they are ideal for highly compact solutions in power electronics. The capacitors are designed for a maximum operating temperature of 105 °C; at a rated voltage of 450 V DC and maximum ripple current, they reach a useful life of 2000 h. A capacitance range from 120 µF to 1000 µF is offered in case sizes ranging from 22 mm x 25 mm to 35 mm x 55 mm. Another special feature is the high ripple current capability up to 7.22 A (100 Hz, 60 °C).
With the increasing market for electrified vehicles (EVs), the demand for on-board chargers (OBCs) is growing fast. OBCs open up the possibility to charge the car not only at fast-charging DC stations but also with AC sources in a reasonable time. Such systems are currently going up to 22 kW with operating voltages up to 800 V. The function of the OBC is to convert the AC voltage from an external source to a specific DC voltage that is based on the requirements of the battery management system. By this, a battery-saving and fast charging process can be reached.
