There are two categories of leaded chokes for EMI suppression: RF chokes and VHF chokes. The lacquer-coated RF chokes are suitable for the low and high frequency decoupling of signal and control circuits, for filtering supply voltages, or to ensure EMC. In addition to their excellent RF and temperature properties, they also exhibit very good saturation behavior. There are available in 7 different series with axial or radial leads.
The VHF chokes are compact chokes with insulating sleeves that are designed for line voltage applications. They are used to block and filter high frequencies, suppress EMI in small appliances or for decoupling in telecom and entertainment electronics.
