    • TDK Product Features
    Single-phase induction motors (e.g. in compressors for refrigerators and air conditioners) can effectively be started when an auxiliary coil is used in the starting phase. PTC thermistors are used for delaying the switch-off of the starter auxiliary coil (after the motor has accelerated) to protect the coil from damage. TDK motor start PTCs have been designed for a large number of switching cycles (>100,000) at high starting powers.
