3D transponder coils for 22 kHz with high sensitivity
TDK Corporation is extending its B82453C*A* series of 3D transponder coils with a new type that features an operating frequency of 22 kHz. The new component (B82453C0335A022) complements the existing spectrum designed for a frequency of 125 kHz and is suitable for automotive passive entry passive start (PEPS) and other access systems based on the lower frequency.

TDK offers a wide range of transponder coils with high sensitivity levels and outstanding mechanical performance. They are suited for automotive electronics applications such as immobilizer systems, keyless entry, passive entry / passive start (PEPS), and tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS). The transponder coils feature footprints as small as 3.2 mm x 2.5 mm with lengths up to 11 mm and cover all communication orientations (X,Y and Z). The coils, therefore, also work very well in RFID devices and other wireless systems that operate in the low frequency range (21.8 kHz to 134.2 kHz). Here, they are used to transmit and receive data signals, as well as to wake up or supply energy to the circuit in which they are incorporated.
