TDK delivers global EMC solutions
In the modern technological society, many electronic devices are used at the same time: smartphones, computers, communication devices, medical equipment, cars, etc. EMC is essential for these devices to function efficiently and safely without adversely affecting each other.
Ensuring EMC includes minimizing electromagnetic interference (EMI) and managing electromagnetic susceptibility (EMS). To achieve this, measures such as shielding and filtering, proper design, and conformance testing are required. By taking these measures, you can increase the reliability of your products, meet regulatory standards, and improve your product's market competitiveness.
EMC is an important factor to consider from the very beginning of product development, and it is becoming increasingly important as technology innovates.
TDK provides comprehensive support for EMC
In electronic devices, there is a need for EMI (Electro Magnetic Interference) countermeasures to prevent themselves from becoming a source of noise, and EMS (Electro Magnetic Susceptibility) countermeasures to prevent them from being affected by external noise. This is called EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility), which is translated as "electromagnetic compatibility" or "electromagnetic compatibility". It is important to ensure that both emissions and immunity are addressed, that is, both generated and intrusive noise.
TDK provides comprehensive support for EMC through Ferrite. As vehicles become more electrified, many products are becoming more and more prone to noise issues. EMC is regulated by international standards, and electronic devices on the market must meet those standards. EMC is required to measure, evaluate, and take measures to meet standards.

TDK has a radio wave absorption band using ferrite technology, and can provide anechoic chamber and EMC measurement technology. We also have EMC certification sites in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture and Lebenburg, Germany, and can provide measurements in accordance with international standards. If you have a problem with EMC, we will recommend the most suitable parts through technical support.
EMC has a long track record and provides comprehensive support for EMC with measurement equipment, certifications, technical support, and mitigation parts.
Anechoic chambers and measuring systems
TDK offers world-leading technologies for anechoic chamber design and measurement systems. An anechoic chamber is an important facility for evaluating the performance of wireless communication equipment and electronic equipment, eliminating external radio interference and providing a precise measurement environment.
Anechoic chambers and radio wave absorbers

We provide a measurement environment custom-designed according to the measurement object, such as an anechoic chamber that meets various EMC standards for vehicles, in-vehicles, and consumer products, a six-sided anechoic chamber for microwave millimeter-wave evaluation, and a reverberation chamber that can be evaluated in vehicles and vehicles.
We also provide environmentally friendly products such as radio wave absorbers using biomass materials.

EMC Certifications
TDK EMC Centers are internationally recognized laboratories that have been audited based on the international standard for operation and technology (ISO/IEC 17025) and have been accredited by Japan VLAC. You can use the DoC (Declaration of Conformity) system based on FCC regulations, which can significantly shorten the certification process for your products and devices. In addition, we are certified for EMC testing of automotive equipment and are a registered testing laboratory of GM FORD.

EMC Measurement Services
We are equipped with various equipment necessary for EMC testing, including a 10-meter anechoic chamber that can perform EMI measurement and EMS testing of large-scale equipment and equipment, and we can provide a variety of measurement evaluations.
10-meter anechoic chamber
Fig.5 : 10-meter anechoic chamber
It is equipped with a large turntable with a diameter of 6 m and a load capacity of 4 tons, and can supply up to 24 kVA. In addition, a lifter with a weight resistance of 120 kg makes it possible to install an opposing machine in a turntable pit with a depth of 2.8 m. Measurement and testing of large equipment and equipment such as automobiles, robots, and machine tools can be performed in one place.
3M anechoic chamber
Fig.6 : 3-meter anechoic chamber
It is an anechoic chamber that has obtained laboratory accreditation for EMC measurement of in-vehicle equipment. For EMC measurement of in-vehicle equipment, special measuring desks (with ground plates) and amplifiers for large-capacity radiated EMS (1000W output) are optimally arranged, which are different from consumer devices.
Reverberation Chamber (TDK's free-standing stirrer)
Fig.7 : Reverberation Chamber
In the electric field emitted inside the shielded room, a stirrer (stirrer) is used to reflect it on the interior surface of the shielded room to create an isotropic homogeneous electric field field, and it is possible to conduct immunity tests that simulate the actual indoor and outdoor environments.

EMC Countermeasure Support
EMI measurement or EMS testing results indicate that countermeasures are required, but specific methods are not known, experienced EMC countermeasure engineers will provide on-the-spot support for countermeasures. TDK's extensive range of noise suppression components, such as evaluation and analysis tools and various noise filters, is always on hand, enabling effective responses in a short period of time. (EMC countermeasures can be likened to medical care.)
EMC Support, Measurement, and Certification Service Locations
Anechoic chambers and shielded rooms for evaluation are installed at major bases around the world Japan (Akita), China (Shanghai), Germany (Regensburg), the United States (Austin), Taiwan (Taoyuan). We provide noise suppression support at nearby bases. In addition, there are certification sites in Japan (Ichikawa) and Germany (Regensburg), and certification reports can be created. Upon request, we can propose EMC filters and support them at the design stage. In addition, we will provide the following countermeasure assistance in the actual set.
On-site EMC noise suppression support
Outsourced EMC measurement and noise suppression support
On-site EMC noise suppression support at customer facilities
EMC Components
Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) components are an essential part of the proper operation of electronic devices in the electromagnetic environment. These components play a role in suppressing electromagnetic noise emitted by electronic devices and preventing electromagnetic interference from the outside.
As with medicine, it is effective when the appropriate parts are used for the symptom (cause).
