TDK introduces tube magazines for various series of ring core chokes for automatic pick and place
TDK Corporation (TSE:6762) has expanded its portfolio of single-phase EMC filters with the B84742A*R725 series. These components serve AC as well as DC applications up to 250 V and rated currents from 6 A to 30 A. This means they can be used for increasingly popular DC infrastructure in the industrial and building sectors. Available in five versions, the 97 x 60 x 34.5 mm (L x W x H) small single-phase filters, weighing no more than 310 g, can be snapped quickly and conveniently onto the TH35 DIN rail, also known as a top-hat rail. The conductors are fastened with M4 screws, and the screw connection is equipped with touch protection.
TDK Corporation (TSE: 6762) introduces with its B84143C*S250/S251 series the new EPCOS 3-line EMC filters for converter applications with high currents. Depending on type, they are designed for rated voltages of 305/530 V AC and 440/760 V AC (50/60 Hz) at rated currents of 160 A to 2500 A. One particular performance characteristic is their very high attenuation figures which are achieved in the range of 9 kHz to 150 kHz. In order to meet the requirements of UL in switch cabinet construction, the complete filter series has been designed for an SCCR (Short Circuit Current Rated) value of 100 kA.

In recent years, switching speed of DC-DC converters has increased as the switching frequency has become higher. As a result, high-frequency noise is generated when inductance and stray capacitance of the wiring of board or inside IC resonate due to a sudden change in input current. The high-frequency noise can conduct to external circuits and cause abnormal operation of the set. This Solution Guide introduces examples of noise countermeasures using a three-terminal filter (feed-through filter for power lines) with low ESL, which is effective for noise countermeasures against noise generated on the input side of DC-DC converters.
